Internal composition of the organization

The organization consists of a group of women, numbering (20) women from Nineveh Governorate, from all components and religious sects, arts, specializations and different ages, and they are united by common and diverse ideas. The first meeting of the team was held on November 2019 on the sidelines of a training program dedicated to training the team on developing leadership skills. In 2022, after working on more than one project in Nineveh, the team was transformed into the Nineveh Women's Organization.

The most prominent activities and projects that the organization has implemented

Firstly

Yazidi women participate in the Yazidi New Year celebrations, offer them congratulations and flowers, and invite them to restore trust with other components within the Local Peace Committees project funded by the Dutch organization PAX

secondly

Holding a public symposium on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day inside the University of Mosul, with the attendance of the High Commission for Human Rights and some defenders and those interested in this field and from all components. This initiative was implemented with the support of the Peace and Freedom Organization.

Thirdly

Implementing the Media Code of Honor project, funded by the Mosul Organization for Development, which aims to shed light on female journalists through six-month training on the importance of the media in spreading peace and signing the Media Code of Honor during a major conference with government attendance in the city of Mosul.

Fourth

A celebration was held on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8, inside the University of Mosul, with a large female presence, activists and parliamentarians. During the celebration, women's voices were conveyed to students regarding their rights and achieving justice. This initiative was funded by the Peace and Freedom Organization in partnership with the Dutch organization PAX.

Fifth

Conducting training on enhancing the concept of gender for a group of women and men in the city of Mosul at a rate of ten separate sessions, each session targeting 15 participants.

Sixth

The contribution of the organization’s management team as an editorial board in the Nineveh Women’s Magazine to highlight the importance of Nineveh women in society for two years. 14 issues were issued with support from the Dutch organization PAX.

Seventh

Implementing the Women's Voices for Peace project with the support of the Dutch organization Ambiente Woj, which aims to hear women's voices, the problems and challenges they face, and involve them in transitional justice processes.

Eighth

Implementing the Women for Justice project, funded by the Dutch organization Ambiente Woj, which aims to provide legal and psychological support to women affected by terrorism, and to hold legal awareness sessions for women in all fields and health awareness.
